Matt Diggity recently released a video in which he shared his favorite guest posting technique:
Reverse engineer your competition.
Use Ahrefs Content Explorer, type in
“By matt diggity” -diggitymarketing.com“By authorname” is of course about finding articles they’ve authored, and the “-domain“ is to exclude their own website.
Then you get a list of their guest posts. You can reach out to these sites webmasters.
Wrong way to pitch:
“Hi, I’m a huge fan of your website and would love to guest post for you.”
Make it about how you can help them:
GOOD WAY 1:
Find articles they’re competition is ranking for, but they’re not. Offer to write an SEO optimized article targeting that keyword for them.
GOOD WAY 2:
Contact the webmaster and offer to sneak a backlink to them from another guest post if they publish your guest post.
